The first Issue of the Ateneo Law Journal's 66th Volume is now available online.

Every Volume's first Issue highlights the notable changes and developments in the law over the past year. In keeping with tradition, this year's "Updates in Jurisprudence and the Law" offers a wide array of illuminating and inspired discussions on both the substantive and procedural aspects in various fields of the law.

The Issue features Atty. Luis Jose F. Geronimo's Article entitled, "Queer Vadis: Marching Beyond SOGIESC Equality’s Incipient Gains, Lessons from American and Taiwanese Queer Legal Histories," which sheds light on the contemporary issues faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and the experience of the American and Taiwanese crusades toward marriage equality. Similarly captivating is the Article "Tan-Andal v. Andal: The Deconstruction and Diminishing of the Molina Guidelines," by Atty. Amparita D. Sta. Maria which discusses how the liberal interpretation of psychological incapacity is more in line with the intent of the framers.

On the subject of procedure, Atty. Stephen George S.D. Aquino weighs in on how the 2019 Amendments to the Rules on Civil Procedure has contributed to the speedier and more efficient dispute resolution process. Moreover, Atty. Aileen Charisse P. Cruz, in the Article "Hague Service Convention: A Practical Step Towards Greater International Legal Cooperation" forwards the view of how international cooperation on the manner of facilitating service of documents across States may ease the barriers in the orderly settlement of disputes.
